Did you know there is an official contest on the best drinking water in the state of Arkansas? There is and it is and the results are in.
There is a yearly contest that takes place in the state of Arkansas. According to a press release, the process started earlier in the year. Arkansas is divided into eight districts and back in February water suppliers in each of the districts participated in the contest. The winners of each district then went on to the state level of the contest.
Those 8 water samples were tested and judged at the Arkansas Water Works & Water Environment Association (AWW&WEA) Conference in Hot Springs this week.
The winners were announced Monday morning. Who do you think came in with the best drinking water in the state of Arkansas? If you thought Hot Springs then you thought wrong.
Here are the Top Four Towns with the Best Drinking Water in Arkansas
4th Place Alma, Arkansas
3rd Place - Bentonville, Ar
2nd Place - City Corp (Russellville, Ar)
1st Place - Texarkana!
Texarkana is a twin city and its combined population is 65,583. Texarkana Water Utilities won the best drinking water contest, for the State of Arkansas. Kudos to the TWU employees working at the Wright Patman Water Treatment Plant and to the Milwood Water Treatment Plant.
