Usher & Wife Grace Miguel Call It Quits After Two Years of Marriage
After two years of marriage, and nearly 10 years together, Usher and his wife Grace Miguel are separating. The couple announced the news on Tuesday (March 6) via a statement with Us Weekly.
“After much thought and consideration we have mutually decided to separate as a couple,” the couple told Us. “We remain deeply connected, loving friends who will continue supporting each other through the next phases of our lives. The enormous amount of love and respect that we have for each other will only increase as we move forward.”
The news came after the pop star posted a series of inspirational messages on his Instragram story, including “Destiny is waiting for you, all you have to do is go get it.” He also posted numerous videos and photos of a new tattoo he got done over the weekend, though the most telling of the posts was last week's portrait of the crooner and his tattoo artist with the caption, "new era // new ink."
This is Usher's second marriage. he has two children—Naviyd Ely Raymond, 9, and Usher Raymond V, 10—with his first wife, Tameka Foster.
The R&B singer has had a rough year. Over the summer, three people sued him for giving them herpes after failing to tell them he had the sexually transmitted disease. Though that case was later dismissed, Usher has previously settled another case with a woman for $1.1 million.
