What Delicious Side Dish Is The Official State Food Of Arkansas?

Did you know that each state has an official food? But the real question is do you know the official food of Arkansas? Is it deer? Or maybe some good ole chicken-fried steak? 

I had no idea that states had their own official food. I did find out from Mario that states have their own motto. But food, that's something I can get behind. So let's get on to these official state foods.

Texas

When it comes to the great state of Texas. Chili Con Carne which means 'chili with meat'. is the official food. But do you like yours with beans or without?

Louisiana

The official food of Louisiana is Beignets. Who doesn't love a beignet? With that light fluffy texture and sprinkled sugar, beignets were created in France and they make a delicious sweet treat for breakfast.

Oklahoma

Oklahoma is a little confused. They actually have three official state foods. Fried okra, black-eyed peas, and pecan pie. I think they should go with the peas. You know that black-eyed peas are a traditional new year food you eat for good luck.

Arkansas

So when it comes to the official food of Arkansas it may surprise you that it is rice. I am half Asian and rice has always been a big part of our diet, but why is rice the official food of Arkansas? Well, I didn't know that Arkansas is one of the largest producers of rice for the entire United States.
