When Was The Last Time You Attended An Air Show? Too Long For Me
Hey, it's Jim, you know the guy who's "Just Plane Nuts." I was trying to remember when was the last time I went to an air show... It has been way too long for me, I think the last time was a year or two before all the COVID-19 mess. I know there are some coming up in the fall, but I'm getting a little antsy.
As I sit here thinking about what's to come how about a few pics and videos from the past?
Barksdale Air Force Base - Defenders of Liberty Show 2016
This is the best air show video I have shot yet, it's a good portion of the Air Force Thunderbirds' performance from the 2016 show at Barksdale flying F-16s:
I actually have pics from a show a little more recent than this one, just can't find them at the moment. That's frustrating.
Next Chances To Go... Just Plane Nuts?
October 8:
- 23rd Annual Corsicana Airsho in Corsicana, Texas - Brought to you by the CAF Coyote Squadron based there.
October 22:
- North Little Rock Air Show in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
October 22 & 23:
- Bell Fort Worth Alliance Air Show in Fort Worth, Texas featuring the Air Force Thunderbirds.
October 29 & 30:
- Wings Over Houston Air Show at Ellington Field in Houston, Texas. One of the best shows you will ever see thanks to the volunteer efforts of the Houston Wing, Gulf Coast Wing, and Tora! Tora! Tora! of the Commemorative Air Force, along with the support of the Lone Star Flight Museum, Collings Foundation-Houston based there at Ellington, and the Vietnam War Flight Museum.
November 11, 12 & 13:
- CAF Wings Over Dallas Air Show - Dallas Executive Airport in Dallas, Texas. Back when I was young it was known as Red Bird Airport, now it's the home of the Commemorative Air Force and this is about as good a WWII airplane show there is.
March 24 & 25, 2023:
- Barksdale Defenders of Liberty Air and Space Show - Barksdale AFB in Bossier City, Louisiana featuring the US Navy Blue Angels.
My "Just Plane Nuts" air show calendar is filling up fast for the fall of 2022 and early 2023. How about yours?
