Woman Arrested For Allegedly Pepper Spraying Family & Attempting To Take Child
According to the Texarkana Gazette, a woman was arrested on September 15 for allegedly pepper spraying the father of her one-year-old son, the child and the father's wife. The alleged attack took place while the family sat in a parked car watching a youth football practice.
The family was sitting parked in a Chevrolet Tahoe - the child's father and his wife in the front, and the one-year-old in the back seat. Branda Danielle Hope, 32, allegedly walked up and doused the couple with pepper spray and then attempted to to get in the back seat of the vehicle to take the child, according to the affidavit.
The father and his wife were able to stop Hope from taking the baby as she demanded they give her the child. As it turns out, the 1-year-old had allegedly recently been removed from Hope by Child Protective Services and placed with the father.
Hope has been charged with two counts of assault and with injury to a child. Her bond is set at $17,500 and she remains in Bowie County jail.
