Live Blues Concert At Hopkins Friday Night

Looking for something to do tomorrow (Friday) night? Go downtown to Hopkins Icehouse and enjoy some blues from Texarkana native and guitarist, Mark Searcy Middleton.

Searcy, who is based in San Antonio, will return to Texarkana for his Tour de Razorback concert that will kick off tomorrow.  Searcy told the Texarkana Gazette that it was in San Antonio where he forged a career in the blues after a workplace accident inspired him to pick up the guitar again.  As part of rehab on his hands, he picked the instrument back up to give his fingers strength, and the challenge brought him a blossoming career in music.

His love for the guitar began as a teenager, but let it go as he raised a family here in Texarkana. The guitar was an instrument he'd first learned as a teenager, only to let it go as he raised a family here in Texarkana.
