Americans are making a statement today at checkout counters amid renewed calls for racial equality across the country. Today, July 7 has been designated as Blackout Day where not one Black person in America spends a dollar" outside of businesses owned by Black people.

The solidarity of the statement being made comes in the wake of protests against police brutality and renewed attention to the nation's decades-long racial wealth gap. Unfairness has plagued Black people in America for years, and it's good to see society finally having an awakening to it. Black-owned businesses are getting showered with support in our push for social and economic justice.  If you are looking for services provided by black-owned in Texarkana and surrounding areas, visit the Facebook page, Texarkana Black Restaurants and Businesses.
