The Boy Scouts of America Order of the Arrow Lodge 232 in Texarkana played host to the Texas Connection Southern Indian singing/drumming group out of Houston, Texas at their first ever Fall Fellowship this past weekend at Camp Preston Hunt.

Texas Connection Southern Indian Singing Group is a very well respected organization which receives many requests each year to perform for various events and even Native American Pow Wows. They performed for us at the last Scout-O-Rama and with any luck they will be back again in 2017. This time though they made the trip just to help our Scouts and Advisers with lessons in drumming, singing and dancing Native American songs and the etiquette that goes with it.

The Order of the Arrow has been using Native American terminology and symbolism for many years, and while they always strive to be accurate in their portrayal of the American Indian in their ceremonies and such, they always want to do it better. Last weekend was a fantastic opportunity to do just that.

Thanks Texas Connection.
