People Are Driving From Everywhere to See the Leaking Johnny Cash in Arkansas
Kingsland, Arkansas is best known for being the home of the legendary Johnny Cash. However, now it may become known as the leaking Johnny Cash.
That's because a 50,000-gallon water tower that features a silhouette image of Johnny Cash standing with his guitar has sprung a leak due to vandals who shot at the water tank. A bullet was shot through his pants purposely to make it appear that the Man in Black is, excuse the word, urinating on the ground below. The leak has been going on for about a week now and the story has gone viral on social media and the internet or should I say, streaming nationwide.
While most folks think it's hilarious which it is, city officials of Kingsland don't think it's a laughing matter because of the waste of water and the cost of having it repaired not to mention that the incident is totally illegal. Drinking water for the small community will be affected as the city will have to switch to a water line until it is repaired. The cost is estimated to be around $5,000, meanwhile, the leak is costing the city about $200 per day, according to Fox16.com.
Local sheriff's officials have a few leads in the case and if the vandals are caught they are looking at felony charges and damages to city property. The vandals may have to get used to singing, "Folsom Prison Blues."
I can't help but think that Johnny Cash is looking down with a little smile himself. You know, Arkansas is known for its waterfalls but this one is mesmerizing, to say the least.
By the way, the National Statuary Hall is proposing that a statue of two Arkansans, Daisy Bates, and Johnny Cash be created and designed. All I can say is, do not make this a water fountain statue for obvious reasons.
