Some amazing research has lead to spinal cord paralyzed rats walking, climbing steps and even runing again.

Researcher Gregoire Courtine along with the University of Zurich and the Swiss Institute of Technology are making mind boggling progress using a chemical cocktail and electronic stimulation of the spinal cord to create new neural pathways in these paralyzed lab rats like the one in the video below.

Courtine explains that so far they have no idea how this will translate to human paralysis victims as of yet, but it is very encouraging news.
