
Governor Abbott to Deliver Texas’ ‘State of the State’ Sunday
Governor Greg Abbott announced Monday that his 2025 State of the State address will be this Sunday, February 2 at 5:00 PM CT. The good news for Texans who would like to watch it live is Nexstar Media Group Inc. with television stations across Texas will carry the live telecast. Even though KTAL is technically a Shreveport, Louisiana station, they will be carrying the broadcast for us in Northeast Texas.
During the Governor’s address, Abbott will be outlining his priorities for the 89th Texas Legislative session which began on January 14. In a release from the governor’s office on Monday, Governor Abbott says the state must take bold action to build a stronger Texas.
“Texas is the blueprint for America’s future,” said Governor Abbott. “This 89th Legislative Session brings new opportunities for the Texas Legislature and statewide leaders to strengthen our national and global position as the beacon of economic opportunity, prosperity, and individual liberty. From becoming the eighth-largest economy in the world to safeguarding the freedoms that make Texas great, we are working tirelessly to accomplish what seems impossible. Working together, we will continue to build a stronger Texas for generations.”
The “State of the State” speech will air on 15 Nexstar television stations across Texas. As a public service, Nexstar will make the live feed of the telecast available to every broadcast company serving Texas wishing to carry it.
