I had a really great Mother's Day! Amidst COVID, it's been months since I had the opportunity to go home and really spend time with my family and friends. We made up for it this past weekend, and my kiddos exceeded my expectations with my Mother's Day gift. I know a lot of moms probably look forward to receiving flowers, jewelry, household gadgets, etc. on Mother's Day. Not this mama. My kiddos know I'm not very traditional when it comes to gifts. Typically, my son and daughter will get me a gift card to my favorite tattoo parlor, hair extensions or makeup or something they know I really want. This year they got me a 38 Special Smith & Wesson revolver with infrared for the win, and she's a beauty! I was completely shocked. I'm always appreciative and impressed by whatever they choose to give me. But this Mother's Day, they really outdid themselves.

My new gun's name is Patty Popoff. She's small and cute, but can get loud and ugly if she has to. As country singer, Josh Thompson said, "This house is protected by the good Lord and a gun.  You might meet 'em both if you show up here not welcome son."

I'm very thankful for the thoughtfulness of my kiddos. They know their mama believes every woman should pack a pistol for her protection. And lets just say... I'm very well protected at all times.
