Pack A Purse For Homeless Women With Local Church & Majic 93.3

Whitaker Street Temple of Truth Church is launching a new initiative called "Pack A Purse" to ensure that every homeless woman in Texarkana has bag full of essentials and blessings. According to Ms. Patricia Blackwell, Youth Director and Head of Christian Education, the church the initiative is for women living in shelters and on the streets of Texarkana. She said:

Last year, we went out and gave gift bags to men and women. We noticed we didn't see as many women out as we did men. So, this year, we're catering to the needs of women, and we're going to them wherever they are.

The ministry is asking the community to help them achieve their mission of providing packed purses to Texarkana's homeless women by donating new and lightly loved purses as well as special goodies such as: hand lotion, nail polish, nail clippers, lip balm, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, socks, gloves, women's vitamins, Bible, journal, pens, etc.

Drop off spots are Whitaker Street Temple of Truth Church located at 519 Whitaker Street, Texarkana, TX. on Sundays between 10:45 - Noon and on Wednesdays between 6 pm - 7 pm. Purses can also be dropped off at Majic 93.3 located at 2324 Arkansas Blvd Texarkana, Arkansas between 8:30 am - 5 pm. No time to pick up items, but got an older, yet nice purse you no longer carry? DROP IT OFF! All empty purses will be filled by the church and Keeta King of Majic 93.3.

Purses will be distributed on Saturday, October 26.
