Christine Quarles's book, "Pretty, Crossed & Tempted" will hit the BIG SCREEN at the Perot Theater on Saturday, August 3 at 7 PM.

Every authors dream is to see the characters on the pages of their manuscript come to life! I remember my interview with local author and visionary, Christine Quarles  (AKA CoCo) about a year ago. At the time the book was a finished product and she was gearing up for a promotional event, Sex In The City which was a platform for people to come out and discuss openly the contents of the book in relation to their personal experiences and perceptions. She told me that day she was going to turn the book into a movie... and here we are today! #goals

The Texarkana Gazette reports that the movie is 99% Texarkana from the writer, to the director, to the cast, businesses and more...  aaaaall natives and residents of Texarkana.

CoCo wrote "Pretty, Crossed & Tempted" in 2015 and self-published selling 400 copies in the first year. The book is an inspirational, self help book that readers quickly took too. When readers expressed they wanted more, in her mind, that could only mean producing a movie. She told the Gazette...

"The book goes over the emotional sides of casual sex. Casual sex is this big deal now where we don't date, we don't 'court', we don't honor marriage anymore. We just meet someone, we sleep with them, and relationships aren't healthy."

CoCo describes the film as a PG-13 film with some explicit language. All characters are fictional, but all situations in the film are inspired by real life. She also shared with the sources the following...

The film follows four students in the classroom lives outside of the classroom, the relationships. So you see four different types of relationships. It was so fun filming this, it was emotional. But it was really fun."

The movie was filmed in local spots, such as Verona Restaurant downtown and Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes. Graduates of Texas High, Arkansas High and Liberty-Eylau High School all participate. So, needless to say, it's a true Texarkana product.
