Texas Governor Releases 'State of the State' Report for 2022

Governor Greg Abbott has released his "2022 Report to the People of Texas," it's a review of all things Texas over the last year and a look ahead to the Governor's vision of the state's future. This is Abbott's fourth Report to the People of Texas since assuming office in 2015. This report is not the same as the State of the State address, those are actually a speech given by the Governor on years when the Legislature is in session. In off-session years, the Governor releases this report.

"Texas shines as a beacon of hope, prosperity, and freedom—an economic and innovation powerhouse offering unmatched opportunities for families and businesses to grow and succeed," said Governor Abbott. "As we have seen in years past, when tested by fire, flood, or hurricane, Texans respond with resilience and calm resolve. Just as we overcame those challenges, we continue to overcome the challenges of the global pandemic. And with neighbors helping neighbors, our communities are rebounding."
