Texas Mother Killed In Road Rage Shooting In Front Of Young Daughters
A Texas mother is dead and a 14-year-old girl was left in critical condition in an apparent road rage incident.
The incident took place in San Antonio, Texas on I-35 near an apartment complex, According to KABB, two cars pulled over after exchanging words. At that point, one driver got out of the car and began shooting at the other car. The other driver tried to escape, but ran into a fence.
KENS 5 reported that Lucia Mendoza, 38 years old, died. The 14-year-old who was in the vehicle is currently in critical condition. There was also a 7-year-old in the vehicle at the time of the shooting, but was not injured.
KSAT reported that Mendoza’s brother, Jesus Vega, told the outlet that his sister was returning home after a shopping trip with her two daughters. He gave the following statement:
She was like ‘help, help! Mommy needs help! Sister too! They need help,’” he said, per KSAT. “She was scared. Now she knows she basically saw her mom pass away in front of her.
Police told KENS 5 that the other driver fled the scene before police arrived.
