We all love how beautiful the great state of Arkansas is and there are so many great towns to live in the state. From our capital Little Rock to Fayetteville and Hot Springs just to name a few but these towns weren't the town that made this list.
The website 24/7wallst.com did all the work for us. They took all towns, cities, boroughs and villages any incorporated area with at least 8,000 residents then they scored them all by looking at affordability, economy, quality of life, and community.
The Best Town to Live in Arkansas is...
This town in Arkansas came out ahead of all the towns and cities mainly for its affordability, community attractions and amenities.
Batesville
According to USA Today;
Most homeowners in Batesville pay less than $1,000 a year in property taxes, less than half the amount the typical American homeowner pays. Overall annual housing costs typically come to about $7,500 a year, roughly $4,600 less than the median costs nationwide. Goods and services are 16 percent less expensive on average in Batesville than they are nationwide.
Batesville is the oldest existing town in the state of Arkansas going back as far as the early 1800s. The town was first known as Napoleon then Poke Creek. But finally settled on the name Batesville. The town was named after Judge James Woodson Bates, who was the first territorial delegate to Congress.
Have you been to Batesville? There are plenty of things to check out including shopping for antiques, art galleries and they have an annual film festival too.
