Woman’s Body Found in Drainage Ditch in Texarkana [UPDATE]

Texarkana Arkansas Police Department reports that a woman's body was found in a drainage ditch in Texarkana, Arkansas this morning (11-19) by the EZ Mart store at the corner of Arkansas Blvd and Jefferson Avenue.

According to police, the woman, a white female was deceased and it was not known how long the body was there. The victim has yet to be identified and an investigation is now underway by the Texarkana Arkansas Police. The body was discovered by someone in a nearby neighborhood according to Ark-La-Tex Homepage.

Update

The victim has now been identified as 55-year-old Judy Martin from Texarkana, Arkansas. Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division viewed the surveillance video from the EZ Mart store and showed that Ms. Martin was walking near the drainage system on Thursday, November 10, 2021, at approximately 6 PM, she then disappears from the camera view. Ms. Martin's family has been notified and an autopsy will be done at the Arkansas Crime Lab to determine the cause of death.
