I just found out that our defending club champion, Odie DeHan, is going to be MIA this coming Saturday for our monthly USPSA/IPSC match at the Texarkana Gun Club due to his participation in this weekends Rocky Mountain 3-Gun match in Raton, New Mexico. We wish Odie good luck, bring back something cool off that prize table will ya! Hey, just a thought here, with Odie gone, maybe I can move up one slot this weekend in "Limited" ... nah, you're right, probably not.

Good News, Bad News:

Good News - My gun is shooting better than ever. I had a little bit of work done to the feed ramp to stop that "feed issue" that has been plaguing me all season. Plus my gunsmith did a little nip and tuck here and there to free up the slide a little bit and smooth the trigger. The gun ROCKS! 550 rounds through it so far with no cleaning and not one feed problem. I even used some real crap-tastic ammo just to see if I could find the threshold, didn't find it. I finally had to break down and clean it, not going into this weekend's match with a dirty gun.

Bad News - No excuses! Now it's all me, good bad or ugly. I can't blame a poor outing on the gun that's for sure. Not that I ever have mind you, but it has been a contributing factor on many stages. Not anymore.

More Bad News - Dang It's HOT! It's 106 degrees outside as I write this, supposed to be 109 tomorrow and right now the outlook for Saturday is 6 degree shy of brimstone. If you're planning on joining us this Saturday we suggest you bring lots of water, gatorade, powerade, whatever-ade you drink to re-hydrate yourself, cause there's going to be a big need of that hydrating thing. A wet towel around your neck when not shooting also helps. Bring a folding chair, seriously. Sitting down for a few minutes between stages really helps as well.

As always, if your looking for a great place to shoot in the Ark-La-Tex, a local instructor or some new friends to shoot with, you’ll find it all at TexarkanaGunClub.org.
