Students will prepare for their first year in high school with orientation next month.

Texas High School will host an orientation for all current eighth grade students and their parents who will enter or considering entering Texas High School in Fall 2014.  The event will be held on Monday, Feb. 3 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the Sullivan Performing Arts Center, located at 3941 Summerhill Rd.

During the orientation, students and parents will have the opportunity to visit with THS faculty and learn more about programs and clubs that are available.  Sample Choice Sheets will be distributed and an informational session will be held at 6 p.m. which will detail program of studies that will be offered during the next school year and high school expectations.

Additionally, applications for incoming ninth grade students to enroll in the 2014-15 Ross Perot STEM Academy at Texas High School will be made available.  The academy provides a rigorous, well-rounded education with outstanding science, math, English language arts, and social studies instruction with technology integrated across the curriculum.  Academy students reside in distinctive wings of the campus allowing for the development of a school culture which expresses the uniqueness of the academy program and the curriculum being offered.
