Remember when ABC/ESPN/Monday Night Football let Hank Williams Jr. go after he expressed his political opinions in a totally different forum? Well shouldn't NBC/Sunday Night Football consider letting Bob Costas go for lecturing us on his political opinions about gun control actually during the game's halftime show?

This past weekend there was a terrible tragedy in Kansas City, Javon Belcher took the life of his girlfriend, and then himself. Belcher used his personal firearm to do it.

If you watch the video you will see Costas sharing his opinion on gun control, he's for it as you can imagine.

The answer to the "heart-on-your-sleeve" rant Bob, is that gun control will never stop a person who is determined to kill another. It didn't stop "someone" from using a big knife to Kill Nicole Brown Simpson, it won't stop anyone using a car, or a baseball bat or poison. People kill people, they use objects to do it. Banning guns will only keep law abiding citizens from having them. As you may have guessed Bob, criminals don't obey the law. So the next time you're in Texas riding in your limousine, protected no doubt by security personnel supplied by the network, remember the 2nd Amendment wasn't written for only those who can afford security details, it was written for all Americans. I would appreciate it if in the future you would keep your heartfelt opinions to yourself and let the rest of us just simply enjoy the game.

To answer the question I started this piece with, NO, I don't think he should be fired... but I didn't think Bocephus should have been either. The 2nd Amendment protects your rights under the 1st Amendment, even for dip-weenies like you Bob.

Signed,
A proud Texan and 2nd Amendment supporter.
