Today on what would have been Aretha Franklin's 77th birthday, it's only right to share with you one of my favorite quotes from the Queen of Soul...

You cannot define a person on just one thing. You can’t just forget all these wonderful and good things that a person has done because one thing didn’t come off the way you thought it should come off.

We are so quick to cut people off and count them out. Often times we will allow one mishap or disagreement to unravel years and years of good deeds and relationship. Thank goodness God isn't one of us.... Because some of us would've have made it this far.

Give to others the same grace you want extended to you. Give to others THE SAME grace that has kept YOU here... despite YOUR shortcomings.
