I'll never forget my first Taco Tico experience. I was driving through Kenner, Louisiana, when a cousin who was very familiar with the restaurant, demanded we stop. I've been in love ever since, and the good news for me is that Taco Tico is making it's return to Texarkana.

The original Taco Tico restaurants in Texarkana closed in January 2013. From my understanding, since then, we have gotten other Mexican cuisine replacements such as Taco Bueno or the family-owned Ruvalcaba. However, nothing has been able to fill the void quite like Taco Tico, according to my coworker, Wes Spicher.

Thankfully, Taco Tico is coming back to Texarkana, and I will once again get to appease my palate with one of my top Mexican food spots. The new restaurant is scheduled to be open in September and will be located on Texas Boulevard.

The main question many have had is if the food will taste the same? Well, according to a post by Kim Gill:

"The food will be like you remember! I can tell you it’s just as good as it ever was!” Kim Gil was the one to break the news on her Facebook page stating: “The wait is over Texarkana!!! We are bringing back Taco Tico. We are so excited and blessed to have been given this opportunity."

She also posted photos of the food and a Certificate of Formation, making the news more official than the usual rumors floating around Facebook. To view the post click the link below:
